TREK OVERVIEW & QUICK FACTS
About PHULARA RIDGE TREK
Phulara Ridge (3,700m) is an extraordinary and unique trek that offers something very rare in the Indian Himalayas: a continuous, unobstructed walk along a dramatic mountain knife-edge ridge. While most treks climb to a pass or a summit and immediately descend, Phulara keeps you on top of the world for hours on end.
The journey begins from Sankri, climbing through dense, moss-laden forests of oak and pine towards the beautiful campsite of Sikola. As you break through the tree line, the landscape opens up into rolling green hills that lead directly to the base of the prominent ridge.
Stepping onto the Phulara Ridge feels like walking along the spine of a sleeping mountain giant. The ridge drops off dramatically into deep valleys on both sides, providing an exhilarating sensation of exposure and freedom as eagles and lammergeiers soar at eye level.
As you traverse the undulating ridge, an unbroken 250-degree mountain panorama unfolds before you. You are treated to continuous, majestic views of Kedarkantha, Swargarohini, Bandarpunch, Black Peak, and the distant ranges of Himachal Pradesh stretching as far as the eye can see.
The trek concludes by descending into the sweeping, flower-strewn meadows of Pushtara Bugyal—one of the most lush and expansive alpine pastures in Garhwal. Phulara Ridge is a visual masterpiece that deliversmaximum visual reward for every step taken.
