TREK OVERVIEW & QUICK FACTS
About PANGARCHULLA PEAK TREK
Pangarchulla Peak (4,500m) is an explosive spring climbing adventure that offers trekkers the perfect bridge between high-altitude trekking and entry-level mountaineering. Located near the famous Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, this climbing summit is legendary for its massive winter snow accumulation and thrilling ridgelines.
The trek begins in the ski resort town of Auli, leading up through dense rhododendron and oak forests that burst into vibrant pink and red hues during spring. Trekkers camp in pristine clearings like Khullara, surrounded by crisp mountain air and stunning valley views.
As the route progresses above the tree line, the landscape transforms into a dramatic snowy amphitheater. Trekkers walk along the outer walls of the Nanda Devi sanctuary, enjoying front-row views of peaks like Chaukhamba, Dronagiri, Kamet, and Hathi-Ghodi Parbat.
The summit push is an intense, early-morning alpine challenge. Trekkers strap on microspikes and wield trekking poles to climb steep 50-degree snowfields and navigate an exposed, rocky knife-edge summit ridge where every step demands steady balance and focus.
Reaching the summit cairn of Pangarchulla provides a surge of pure adrenaline and accomplishment. Looking out over the sea of snow-draped 6000m and 7000m Garhwal titans from the top is a rewarding experience that will ignite your passion for mountaineering.

Challenging trekking rigor. Requires navigating steep snow slopes using microspikes/crampons, crossing boulder-strewn ridges, and enduring long summit days.
